Last week, the Home
Office’s Good Will Network committee
presented Clara Kirk, founder of Clara’s House, with a check for $3,325.
The
donation was the result of a combination of fundraising efforts, including a
trunk show in May that raised more than $1,500 and an office drawing
offering a chance to win a half day off and tickets to a Chicago White Sox
game that garnered more than $250. The rest of the donation came from the
annual company donation.
In
addition to specific fundraising events, the Home Office GWN committee has
had drives at the office’s monthly breakfast meetings, where employees have
brought in clothes, towels, school supplies and toiletries to benefit
Clara’s House.
On
June 22, the Good Will Network invited Clara to the office to accept the
donation and share with the Home Office how their gifts are helping so
many.
Clara’s House, which
was founded in 1987, is a shelter for battered and/or homeless women and
their children. |
